The Standard Movable Type Installation is available for:

• Both Personal and Commercial Users
• New Installations (as Well as Upgrades)
• MySQL Databases
• Static Publishing
• Limited Plugin Installation, Configuration or Customization
• Limited System Customization, Instruction and Training
• Limited Style or Template Customization

The Standard Movable Type Installation does not include:

• Accounts Hosted at GoDaddy.com or Yahoo!
• Hosting
• Domain Name
• DNS Resolution or Troubleshooting
• Dynamic Publishing
• Website Content - Movable Type Only

In order to begin, the Standard Movable Type Installation requires you to:

• Have a Web Host Meeting the System Requirements
• Have a Domain Name
• Provide Hosting Account Access via FTP
• Provide Hosting Account Login Details (Control Panel is Ideal)
• Provide MySQL Access via MySQLMan, phpMyAdmin or SSH

In order to install Movable Type, we will need to create a MySQL database. This requires access to your Hosting Account. Most Hosting Accounts have a control panel of some sort - cPanel, Gpanel, or perhaps a propietary version. This is what we need to create your database. Access to the database once created, through MySQLMan, phpMyAdmin, or SSH, is also required. Finally, we will also need FTP access to copy the distribution files to your server and change permissions on files if necessary.

The Standard Movable Type Installation is designed for the vast majority of users, both personal and commercial, to provide a cost-effective solution for getting up and running quickly.

Also, please realize that this is a free service, and resources are allocated as they become available - so it may take a short while to work our way through the queue. We also reserve the right to withdraw this offer at any time.

We recognize that there may still be others who require a large number of plugins or a significant amount of customization to templates or even custom programming work, that may not fit the standard mold, and that's okay too. We have also written a number of plugins over the years, so if you don't need installation or upgrade services, but do need a plugin or other code work done, that can be arranged as well.
